At this time,according to the report of WHO,most countries of“East Mediterranean Region Office”(EMRO)have developed a program to reduce avoidable vision disorders and provide reliable access to rehabilitation services for patients with vision disorders.WHO considers prevention of blindness as one of the most effective methods for combating the poverty,like vaccination[9].Initiative of“Vision 2020:the Right to Sight”was formed in the beginning of 1999 by WHO,to establish cooperation among this organization and its partners.The goal of this initiative was to eliminate avoidable blindness all over the world,by 2020.Vision 2020 improves the strategy of integrating PEC in PHC.It emphasizes three priorities:combating the certain diseases,developing human resources,and strengthening structure and technology.Although Vision2020 is a universal program,its implementation requires willing and action of all countries[10].In addition,WHO has suggested some preventing interventions for reducing incidence and prevalence of eye diseases,which are presented in Table 1.
