Single-factor experiments were designed to study the effects of drying temperature(40,50,60,70 and80℃),DJNMT(5,10 and 15 cm),and air-velocity(8,11 and 14 m/s)on the AIJD characteristic of Codonopsis pilosula roots,as shown in table 1.The Codonopsis pilosula roots sample weight was kept at 100±2.5g for all runs.The Air-impingement Jet Dryer was preheated about 30 min for reaching steady-stated conditions,and then the Codonopsis pilosula roots samples were spread with a single layer in the drying chamber.Weight loss of samples was measured by removing the samples from the drying chamber and weighing on an electronic balance(shanghai precision&scientific instrument Co.JA 2003N,China)at various time intervals.The time interval of weighing was 5 min during the first 30 min of dying process,then 10 min during the drying process of30~60 min,and finally 30 min until the sample moisture content reached a safety level(w.b≤10%).Experiments were performed in triplicate and the drying characteristic dates were calculated as the average of the three replicates.During the experiment,temperature and relative humidity of the surroundings ranged from22.3 to 28.5℃and from 24.6%to 37.7%,respectively.
