《Insight into interactions of olivine-scCO_2-water system at 140C and15 MPa during CO_2 mineral sequestration》
The CO2with a purity of 99.995%was used for all experiments(Hua Yuan Gas Chemical Industry Co.,Ltd,Beijing,China).Natural olivine in experiments was collected from Shandong province,China.Chemical composition was determined by Electron Microprobe Analysis as listed in Table 1.Considering negligible elemental contents lower than 0.3%by weight percentage,the apparent chemical formula of olivine sample was confirmed as(Mg1.82Fe0.18)2SiO4(Fo91).Minor clay fraction in sample was estimated no more than 1%.Olivine samples were manually crushed and sieved into particles of two sizes:850e1000 mm(grain)and75e150 mm(powder).These two sizes are commonly used in waterrock reactions and would be suitable for physicochemical analysis.The sieved samples were then washed by deionized(DI)water and dried at 60C for 24 h before following experiments.
