The comparisons on SM A and DTD in time domain among PASSIVE,ON-OFF,and the best ION-OFF(α=0.6)suspension system are show n in Fig.6,and the improvements of ON-OFF and ION-OFF in comparison of PASSIVE on riding comfort,handling stability,and comprehensive performance are arranged in Table 5.The data in Table 5 manifest that(1)as show n in Fig.3,w hen the riding comfort meets its best value(α=0.6),the improvement on the riding comfort of ION-OFF suspension system in comparison of that of PASSIVE suspension system is 21.372%,w hich is better than the improvement w ith ON-OFF suspension system,w hile the handling stability of ION-OFF suspension system is deteriorated 43.416%than PASSIVE suspension;(2)in Fig.4,w hen the handling stability reaches its best value(α=1),the improvement on the handling stability of ION-OFF suspension system in comparison of that of PASSIVE suspension system is 3.915%,w hich is better than the improvement w ith ON-OFF suspension system,w hile the riding comfort of ION-OFF suspension system is deteriorated 17.893%than PASSIVE suspension;(3)in Fig.5,w hen the comprehensive performance attains its best value(α=0.6),the improvement on the comprehensive performance of ION-OFF suspension system in comparison of that of PASSIVE suspension system is 5.1%,w hich is better than the improvement w ith ON-OFF suspension system;(4)because the riding comfort has been taken as the major estimate criterion(considering the setting of adjustment coefficients of estimate criteria),the comprehensive performance could still be improved visibly w hile the degree of the handling stability deteriorates is larger than the degree of the riding comfort improves.
