According to Method“2.5”,aqueous samples in the vial were subjected to the solute diffusion effect detection after each permeation test.The results summarized in Tab.2 indicated that:(1)Sodium chloride did not diffuse through the H5-50,H5-80,H5-90,and H5-150 membranes.(2)Metformin hydrochloride and sucrose did not diffuse through the H5-80 membrane.(3)Metformin hydrochloride could diffuse through the H10-80 membrane.In this case,the higher content(10%)of the porogen PEG1500 increased the presence of micropores in the H membrane which led to an increase of the osmotic water permeation rate and,inevitably,also led to the diffusion of the low molecular weight metformin hydrochloride through larger micropores driven by its concentration gradient.(4)Sucrose failed to diffuse through the H10-80 membrane and enter the pure water side,which could be caused by the higher molecularweight(or larger molecular size)of sucrose.
