The full-size tensile specimens of the w elded joints w ere broken in the base metal,and the tensile strength met the requirements,as show n in Table 4and Fig.3.The impact toughness test results show that the toughness of the welded joint and heat affected zone of the base metal was excellent,and the impact toughness index of-20℃met the requirements of BV NR216 as show n in Table 5.For the application of clad steel plates,the strength and toughness of the w elded joints of the base metal must meet the structural-strength design requirements of the engineering application.Cracks w ere observed neither in the face or back bends of the w elded joints nor in the heat affected zone of the base metal and cladding material in the 180°bending test,as show n in Table 6 and Fig.4.The plasticity of the w elded joints w as satisfactory,such that the w elding process used on the transition layer and cladding material w as successful in ensuring a good combination of the deposited w eld metal in the base metal and cladding material,in avoiding interfacial cracking,and in achieving good overall mechanical properties.The hardness test results of the w elded joint indicate that the hardness of the deposited w eld metal of the base metal slightly decreased as compared w ith that of the base metal and the heat affected zone.In addition,the hardness of the deposited w eld metal of the transition layer and cladding material w as slightly low er than that of the2205 duplex stainless steel base metal.No abnormally hardened area w as observed,as show n in Figs.5 and 6.
