Several structured hex meshes are used in the simulation of different areas of the stove.The average length of the mesh is determined to be 8 mm according to mesh independent tests,as shown in Fig.3.A gas velocity inlet is adopted to enable the introduction of air with ambient temperature,while the air flow rate at the inlet is determined according to the theoretical excess air ratio of 2.5.An experimentally determined negative pressure is applied to the outlet.No-slip conditions and experimentally determined wall temperatures are assumed at the wall boundaries for the gas and solid phase.The detailed boundary conditions are listed in Table 6.Since the tested ellipsoidal coal particles are difficult to simulate directly in the discrete model,they are simplified as sphere particles with an equivalent diameter of about 33 mm in the simulation.The same amount of bituminous coal is used for both the DC and DD modes.
