Incidence of adverse events after pancreatic surgery remains high[2–4]and might threaten postoperative period,prolong LOS,endanger patient’s life,and increase cost of care[25,26].Among many other factors,hospital and surgeon volumes have an impact on post-pancreatectomy morbidity and mortality[8,26,27].Therefore,prediction of surgical complications has been of great relevance since years,and several risk scores are described in literature[2,6,14–22].In opinion of reported papers,these risk scores can be classified either in general scores,which can be used regardless of the type of surgery,or in specific scores for pancreatic resections,as suggested in Table 4.
