The ultrasound measurements（Table 2）and the damage parameter（Fig.13）show quite clearly that the biggest damage occur about 25 to 50 mm behind the hot face.There the US-velocity is low and the calculated damage parameter high.The damage parameter shows as well that the CMA containing A-M castable performs better than the A-MA castable.
