Note:Nc is the number of nodes in the cylinder circumferential direction;CD is the cylinder’s drag coefficient;CL,rms is the root mean square value of the cylinder’s lift coefficient.

Different grid resolutions around a plain circular cylinder were employed and corresponding fluid parameters were compared with others’numerical and experimental results to carry out a grid independence test.The grid resolution was controlled by the node number in the cylinder circumferential direction.Table 1 shows the results of grid independence test in term of the lift coefficient,drag coefficient and the Strouhal number[13].It can be noted that medium and fine girds gave substantially the same results and agreed well with LES results[10]and published experimental data[23].Considering time consumption in the simulation,the medium grid resolution was adopted in the following researches and the size of grids around the cylinder was set as0.015D.
