Figure 13 presents the impact and yield strength of CIM，VIM I and VIM II samples.VIM II presented a 39%improvement in yield strength and 416%in impact strength compared with those of CIM.This improvement must be related to the increased content of shish-kebab as it is a self-reinforced structure that can simultaneously improve tensile strength，impact strength，modulus，stiffness，and thermal stability.Content of shish-kebab is represented by R，i.e.，the thickness ratio of shear layer（composed of shish-kebab）to the whole sample.R is calculated from Fig.2，and values are shown in Table 2.Compared with our previous research，impact strength did not exceed 19 k J/m2 even when R was 0.97[32].Therefore，this result implies strong relation of improved impact strength to the multilayer structure.
